Congrats! I have gotten into several law schools myself in Ohio recently. I have two full rides so far. It is really very hard to narrow down the choices. Very tough decisions.
What made you choose Quinnipiac?

My girlfriend got into Yale and I wanted to go to school next to her. Quinnipiac allows us to move in together.

I am trying to balance the relationship aspect as well. My fiancé is looking at jobs in Columbus which is making the decision more difficult. Yale though, that is impressive. She going for law as well?
And thanks I was never expecting such results. I am very flattered

That’s where I went to Law School. The new North Haven campus is SO much better than the old campus, you’re lucky. First year is hell on earth, but you’ll make it. Just keep your head down and worry about yourself. Don’t pay attention to what other people are doing. It’s easy to get caught up in the competition, even at a school like QU which isn’t even in the top 100. A lot more gunners around than you’d think.
You’ll have Marty Marguiles for Constitutional Law or Criminal Law. He’s a terrible human being from the old school “Socratic Method.” Just play his game, it’s useless to try and fight, he’ll just make it more painful.
If you have him for Criminal, an “information” is an indictment without a grand jury. Remember that and I just saved you from getting kicked out of class. He’ll go down the line kicking people out of class until someone gives him the definition, just to make a point that you should look up words you don’t know. Just watch the movie “The Paper Chase” and understand that you WILL have that professor in 1L year. You’ll simply have to deal with him. I still get anxiety when I think about that guy.

Congratulations. I admit I had never heard of Quinnipiac before and briefly assumed it was in Canada.

Will you become our Steve Lehtwo?

No problemo! It’s a ton of work but you’ll adjust. Remember to keep living your life while you’re in school. Especially 1L year, you can easily spend every waking moment doing work. You still need to keep your sanity, though. I gave myself every Saturday completely off, it helped big time. Have your girlfriend lock your books up on Saturday or Sunday and force you to just chill out. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

Good luck! I hope the market for new lawyers is way better than in was when my wife graduated 4-idu years ago. Her First job was $40k, and her student loans were...let's say high. Really, really high.

I'm going to be fortunate enough to be able to graduate without having to take out any loans, and hopefully my science background will help out with getting a job is a couple of years.

Awesome! I’m glad to hear it! I think it’s better to have Marty right out of the gate. Then no other professor will be able to intimidate you. Just roll with the punches in that class, I hated it and he hated me so it was tough to learn. Do not let him intimidate you. He is a little man, physically and metaphorically. He lost the biggest case of his life if you wanna go look it up in Westlaw... But anyway, good luck in 1L! I hope that WRX stays safe in New Haven.
Wait til you get to the metaphorical “birds” when he tries to explain the differences between common law theft/larceny by trick/larceny... You have a lot to look forward to-- hahahaha.
At least you don’t have him for Constitutional Law. I would have hated that. If you end up with Prof. Marsh for Con Law, just play her game and you’ll actually have a good time. She has people roleplay the parties in the cases you read, it’s weird but a useful teaching tool. I really liked her.
Who do you have for legal skills and torts? Does Abbott still teach all the 1L Civ Pro classes? I really liked her too.
